Master of European Legal Studies 2010 - 2012/Master en études européennes - Spécialité Droit de la construction européenne, with the University of Nancy 2 and in cooperation with the University of Luxembourg


A truly international study programme!
• offered by EIPA Luxembourg, the European Centre for Judges and Lawyers, in partnership with the University of Nancy 2 and in cooperation with the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg,• delivered by academics and practitioners (lawyers, judges and other legal experts) from throughout Europe,• bilingual, delivered in French and English.
A Master degree for professionals enjoying full recognition throughout the whole European Union.
The Master is one of the first of its kind, designed specifically to meet the needs of professionals (national civil servants, EU officials, lawyers, judges and other legal experts, as well as other professionals and graduates with an interest in EU law).
An innovative teaching methodology, using modern e-learning techniques. This new version of our Master will be a blended version, combining online sessions via a Master web portal and self-study with traditional face-to-face learning modules.
A challenging programme covering all fundamental dimensions of the vast corpus of EU Law.

The full two year study programme is structured on the following modules:
• Introduction to European geopolitics and to the European integration process ;
• European institutional law. The judicial system of the EU ;
• Internal market and European economic law ;
• Broadening, deepening and reform of the EU. Future of the European integration process ;
• Implementation of the European legal system ;
• European legal issues related to the internal market ;
• European area of freedom, security and justice ;
• Europe as an international actor ;
• Fundamental rights in Europe. EU citizenship ;
• Methodology seminar / Master thesis.

Venue and timetable:
• Luxembourg for traditional face-to-face learning modules ;
• M1 : September 2010 - July 2011 ;
• M2 : October 2011 - July 2012 ;

• Courses offered by means of e-learning will be followed by students autonomously and according to their respective learning rhythms ;
• Autonomous self study will be supplemented by collective courses and other face-to-face sessions, allowing for group interaction, practical exercises and commentary and explanation of particularly complex legal issues. These sessions will be organised in Luxembourg on specific weekends per academic semester.
